The
architects of the Parthenon,
which was the first building in Pericles' construction program
for the Acropolis, were Ictimus and Callicrates. They used architectonic
tricks when building the Parthenon to get a more satisfying
ecstatic effect. The general supervisor of the works and the
inspirations for the decoration was the sculptor Phidias.
