Agios Eleftherios (Saint Eleftherios), also known as Mikri Metropoli (the little cathedral), is located on Plateia Mitropoleos in Plaka next to the large Cathedral of Metropolis. The little church has a much more important historical value than its big neighbor. It was build at the end of the 12th century on the ruins of an ancient temple which was dedicated to the goddess Eileithyia. It is dedicated to Panayia Gorgoupikuos and Agios Eleftherios.
