Statue
of Athena of Varvakeion, 2nd century BC., made of Pentelic marble
and found near de School of Varvakeion. It is a Roman copy of
the gold and ivory statue made in 438 BC by Phidias which was
placed in the cella (main room) the Parthenon in 447 BC.
