Until
a few years ago, Psirri was no more than a popular Athenian
suburb full of light industrial and artisanal workshops and
small handicraft businesses closely packed into an area of tine,
low neoclassical houses and numerous small chapels. Many of
the houses were empty while several buildings were almost in
ruins.
