The remains of the church of Saint Nicholas can be found at the
foot of the northern side of the Acropolis, after the Agraulos
cave and close to Theorias Street (opposite the Kanellopoulos
Museum). According to legend, this church used to be called Saint
Nicholas Paravas although it has been called Saint Serapheim since
1833.
Judging
by the church’s foundations it was a cross-in-square type
church which would have been unique in this area during the Ottoman
rule.
Theorias Street – Anafiotika
Monastiraki – Acropoli
