You haven't been to Athens if you haven't seen the Acropolis!
The tour starts inside the Syntagma metro station under the hanging clock and next to the validation machines, where your guide will show you the interesting archaeological exhibits that were found during the construction of the station. You will then see the Greek Parliament, the former Royal Palace of King Otto and Queen Amalia. Next
, walking over Syntagma Square, the heart of the city, you'll come to a Byzantine church, which you will visit; either Sotira of Lycodimos or the Kottakis Church (depending on which is open)..

Strolling through Plaka, the old part of the town, will get you to the Monument of Lysicrates (4th century BC) and to Hadrian’s Arch. Next, a ten-minute walk up the beautiful Dionyssiou Areopagitou pedestrian walkway will take you to the Acropolis with its spectacular views over the city below.

Your guide will give a detailed explanation of the history of the glorious monuments of the Acropolis (Parthenon, Erechtheion, Propylaia, Temple of Nike) and the surrounding monuments of the Acropolis including the (Sanctuary of Dionysos, Philopappou Hill, Mars Hill, Pnyx Hill, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Agora and many more.

This tour lasts three hours with 45 minutes of walking in total. It will be possible to sit at some nice shady places to rest and enjoy this highly interesting tour.



The famous Evzones, the Greek Presidential Guard Walk 2 - The best of Athens.

Across the city.
This walk is designed especially for those who have a little more time and are staying in town for at least a couple of days. In one morning you will criss-cross the centre of the city, taking in its modern and ancient history.

You will first pay a short visit to the archaeological displays at Syntagma metro station. Then you will see the impressive House of Parliament, with the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and the Evzones, the presidential guards.

Next you'll cross the National Garden to the Presidential Residence and the marble Panathenaic Stadium (Kalimarmaro), where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. The walk continues to the beautiful Neoclassical Zappeion Hall, in front of which tower the remaining columns of the Temple of Zeus and of Hadrian's Arch, both Roman monuments.

This walk will then take you to the most famous neighborhood of Athens - Plaka, the neighborhood of the gods at the foot of the Acropolis and to the Monument of Lysicrates. This tour ends at Mitropoleos Square, home to Athens' two Greek Orthodox Cathedrals..

The tour lasts three hours and you'll walk for about 60 minutes. Of course there will be time to sit and rest a little. As for all walks tthe meeting point is inside the Syntagma metro staton, next to the ticket validating machines.



The National Archaeological Museum in Athens has the biggest collection of ancient Greek art in the world
Walk 3 - The National Archaeological Museum

The tour starts with an explanation of the archaeological exhibits of the Syntagma metro station. On Syntagma Square you'll see House of Parliament with the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and the Evzones, the presidential guards.

The walk continues down the Eleftherios Venizelos Street. (Panepistimiou), where you see the Mansion of Heinrich Schliemann, also known as the Palace of Troy, today housing the Numismatic Museumy.

Close to the Numismatic Museum are three beautiful Neoclassical buildings: The Academy of Sciences, the University of Athens and the Library, all decorated with unique statues and sculptures.

You take the metro from Panepistimio Station to Victoria. From Victoria station you walk ten minutes to get to the National Archaeological Museum, the largest and most representative archaeological museum in Greece. You will enjoy a professional and profound explanation of the most interesting exhibits and get acquainted with the different periods of the Greek history and art.

The Central Market of Athens
Walk 4 - The Ancient Agora, Plaka and the Monastiraki monuments

This tour is tailor-made for visitors who stay in the city for a couple of days. The tour starts with a short visit to the archaeological exhibits of the Syntagma metro station.

Then you walk down to Mitropoleos Square where you visit the Cathedral of Athens. Just a few minutes down the road is the Monastiraki area where you'll see the Roman and Ottoman monuments of Athens such as the Roman Agora (market), the Tower of the Winds, the Fethiye Mosque, the Medrese, Hadrian’s Library and the Tzistarakis Mosque.

Then walking through the colourful Flea Market you come to the Ancient Greek Agora. You visit the Agora and the Stoa of Attalos which houses the Agora’s museum.

Afterwards, you stroll through Avyssinias Square and you come to Athinas Steet where you find yourself swept away into an exciting colourful oriental world: the meat, fish, fruit, vegetable and spices market.

The Temple of Zeus is the biggest temple in Greece
Walk 5 - The Benaki Museum

The vast collection of the Benaki Museum is exhibited on three floors and is representative of Greek history and its development. It is housed in one of the best-preserved neoclassical buildings of Athens.

On the ground floor, the visitor will follow the development of Greek art from 6.500 BC until the 16th century A.D. The rich, beautiful collection of figurines, vases, sculptures, jewels and icons will make your visit unforgettable. The first and third floors refer more to later Greek history.

The walk continues down the Herodes Atticus Road where you see some representative public buildings such as the Presidential Residence, the Maximos Mansion and on to the Panathenaic Stadium home of the first Modern Olympic Games in 1896. This walk ends by visiting the imposing Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch.
