Museum of Greek Children’s Art
The Museum of Greek Children's Art was founded in 1994 by private
initiative. The museum exhibits painting and three dimensional
artworks by children up to 14 years old from all over Greece,
which are renewed on a regular basis. The museum also has a collection
of toys by African children donated by the Organization "Save
the Children" as well as a collection of the first drawing
attempts on paper by the Kalash children (children of the Kalash
valley in north-west Pakistan).
The
Museum of Greek Children's Art has pre- and primary school education
programs as well as programs for school groups of people with
special needs. These educational programs aim to turn children's
visits to the museum into a pleasant and creative experience.
With the help of audiovisual material and educational leaflets,
various game-like activities children are led to explore the museum
and its exhibits, to acquire new experiences and motivations and
to develop their creative and artistic abilities.
