Live Greek folk music

Athenians are night-loving people. The evening meal seldom begins before nine or ten in the evening and restaurants and tavernas mostly do not close before 2am. Many tavernas in Athens offer traditional Greek entertainment such as colorful folk dances, bouzouki music and singing. Often, guests are invited to learn Greek dancing and have fun.

In bouzouksidika (clubs specializing in music played on bouzoukis), plate breaking or flower throwing is a standard method of expressing delight and appreciation of the entertainment offered and it is said that a night ''sta bouzoukia'' (at the bouzoukia), is a night you will never forget.
