Getting
to Piraeus The
harbor of Athens
From the airport to Piraeus
1.
By bus: express bus X96 leaves every 20 minutes during the
day and every 40 minutes at night
from the airports arrivals level (between doors
4 and 5) to Karaiskaki Square in Piraeus, right
outside the ferry harbor. A ticket costs 3.20
Euro. The trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to
one hour and a half.

By metro: the metro (suburban rail) will take you from the
airport to the end of the line which is
Monastiraki metro station. There you change
to line 1 (green line). The end of line one is the
metro station of Piraeus just outside the entrance
to the ferry harbor. Tickets are 6 € single fare,
10 € for 2 people and 15 € for three.
The journey time from Athens International Airport to the
harbor of Piraeus is about one hour. Trains
are every half hour (:00 and :30) with the first one
leaving the airport at 05:30 and the last one
at 23:30.

By taxi: before your arrival you can book
a taxi online.
This is the most hassle free way as the
driver will be waiting
for you upon your arrival and you won’t have to wait

From
14 february unill the end of october 2009 part of
the metro connection (blue line) from the Athens
Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport will
not be operational due to the construction of new
stations, specifically the part between the airport
and the Ethniki Amyna metro station.
Alternative ways
of transport from the airport to Syntagma Square:
take express bus X95 to Syntagma
Square. Ticket: 3,20 €. Travel time:
60-65 minutes
take express bus X94 or express
bus X96 to Ethniki Amyna metro station and switch
to the metro (blue line) there. Ticket: 3,20 €. Travel
time: 55-60 minutes.

Athens center to Piraeus
1.
By bus: bus nr. 040 Syntagma-Piraeus-Syntagma runs 24
hours a day every 10 minutes on weekdays and
every 20
during the weekend. A one way ticket costs
0,50 €.
2.
By metro: from the closest metro station, get on line 1 (green
line) or switch to it at Attiki, Omonia or
Monastiraki station. The
end of line one is the metro
station of Piraeus just outside the
entrance to the
ferry harbor. A one way ticket costs 0,80 €.
The metro operates between 05:30 and
midnight.

By taxi: here again you can book
a taxi online.
The driver will pick you up at your hotel and bring you to
your
