The church of Saint Demetrius is located on Epimenidou Street,
close to the Acropolis and near the monument of Lysicrates. It
is a single-naved barrel-vaulted church, built in the 17the century.
It became well known because Athanassios Diakos, a leading figure
in the Greek War of Independence, was a deacon here.
